Slater Memorial Park

Slater Park Looff Carousel

Built in 1895 by Charles I.D. Looff and moved to Slater Park in 1910, this is the oldest 'Looff stander' carousel in the world — 44 hand-carved horses plus a lion, camel, giraffe, and dogs spinning on a vintage turntable. A beloved, dirt-cheap ride for kids.

Daggett House

The oldest house in Pawtucket, built in 1685 and set within Slater Memorial Park, furnished with nine rooms of Revolutionary- and Civil War-era antiques by the Daughters of the American Revolution, who have cared for it for over a century. George Washington once stopped here.

Founded in 1896 and housed in a historic lakeside casino building in Slater Park, the RIWS runs a free public gallery with rotating watermedia shows, including a national competition, plus classes and demonstrations by regional artists.

Rhode Island's second-longest bike path follows the historic Blackstone River and Canal north from the Pawtucket area through Central Falls and Lincoln toward Woonsocket and the Massachusetts line, with scenic off-road stretches along the water and old mill sites.
