DiscoverCheapUS participates in several affiliate programs. This page explains how affiliate links work on this site, which programs we belong to, and how we comply with FTC disclosure requirements.
What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is a special URL that lets the merchant know a visitor came from our site. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase or booking, the merchant pays us a small commission. You never pay extra — the price is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the merchant.
Programs we participate in
- Booking.com (via the Awin network) — for hotel bookings linked from city pages.
- Viator, a TripAdvisor company — for tours and experiences linked from city pages.
- Amazon Associates — for travel gear and accessories. As an Amazon Associate, DiscoverCheapUS earns from qualifying purchases.
How we choose what to recommend
Listings on DiscoverCheapUS are selected based on whether they fit our budget-travel focus — free or low-cost attractions across the United States. We do not accept payment in exchange for being listed. Affiliate links (Hotels / Tours / Gear) appear on every listing for reader convenience, but the listing itself is editorial.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. Affiliate links throughout the site are also marked with the rel="sponsored" attribute as recommended by Google.
