Homeschool Discounts in Utah

Big-ticket Utah museums and attractions with homeschool discount days — typically 30–50% off for kids, sometimes free.

Updated June 2026 · 12 confirmed programs · 2 call-to-confirm

Utah may be the best homeschool field-trip state in the West. The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium throws its doors open completely free on its annual Homeschool Day, the Natural History Museum of Utah cuts its $20.95 child admission to $4 every day of the year for registered homeschool families (plus one free Home Education Day each school year), and Thanksgiving Point — home of the Museum of Ancient Life's 60 mounted dinosaurs — runs quarterly Homeschool Days and an anytime Discovery Field Trip at $6 a head against gate prices near $27.

The pattern continues across the Wasatch Front and beyond: living-history days at This Is The Place Heritage Park and the American West Heritage Center, $5 guided tours at Lehi's hands-on Hutchings Museum, group rates at Tracy Aviary and Ogden's Union Station museums, and free docent tours for homeschool groups at two of the state's best art museums. Most programs ask for advance reservations and a homeschool affidavit or letter of intent — Utah venues check paperwork more often than most states, so bring a copy.

Ogden's outdoor dinosaur park keeps a dedicated homeschool welcome mat out: families can come any day with no reservation, work through fossil digs and the working paleo lab against core science standards, and ask for a guide-led tour at no extra charge. Treehouse Children's Museum

Ogden

Ogden's literacy-themed children's museum offers its reduced school-tour rate to Home School groups — two-hour visits with directed theater, art, and storytelling activities plus exhibit time — but doesn't publish the group price online. Worth the call for co-ops with younger kids: regular child admission is $12, and the group rate has historically run well under half that.

Regular admission: $12 ages 2–12 / $6 ages 13+
How to reach them: Call 801-394-9663 or email treehouse@treehousemuseum.org. Reduced school rate explicitly covers Home School groups; 15-child minimum.

Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Salt Lake City

Salt Lake's downtown children's museum runs STEAM-guided field trips for groups of 15 to 100 with optional hands-on workshops, and its teacher resources are explicitly open to homeschool educators. Utah's iSEE fund covers public and charter schools only, so homeschool co-ops book as private groups — pricing comes with the booking form, not the website.

Regular admission: ~$15 general admission
How to reach them: Private-group field-trip pricing isn't posted — schedule through the field-trip form on the educators page.
