Homeschool Discounts in Connecticut

Big-ticket Connecticut museums and attractions with homeschool discount days — typically 30–50% off for kids, sometimes free.

Updated June 2026 · 6 confirmed programs · 0 call-to-confirm

Connecticut's two famous aquariums both write homeschoolers into their school-group rates. Mystic Aquarium names homeschools outright: $16 per student from September through March with a free chaperone for every five kids, against gate prices that float far higher. The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk books groups of ten or more at $19.50 per student — about a third off the online kids' price — with free chaperones and a recurring all-day Homeschool Day of classroom programs each winter.

The river valley and skies hold the rest. The Connecticut River Museum in Essex runs monthly drop-off Homeschool Day programs from October through June — including voyages aboard its replica 1614 Dutch sailing ship and winter eagle-watch cruises — at $22 to $27 a session. The New England Air Museum has already dated its 2026–27 Homeschool Days ($10 adults against a $23 gate, with retired pilots and engineers running the activities), and Yale's Peabody Museum welcomes homeschoolers by name for free programs in a museum that charges nothing to begin with.
